Singleton re-appointed to Council of Swinburne University of Technology

Swinburne University of Technology has announced the re-appointment of David Singleton to the University's Council.

David has served as a Swinburne Council member since 2014 and his re-appointment will see him continue in the role until the end of 2020.

Bringing significant knowledge and experience to the Council, David will continue to play an important role alongside other Council members, as they oversee strategy and support the governance of Swinburne University, helping to drive Swinburne forward. 

“I am thrilled to be re-appointed for another three years. This is an exciting time for Swinburne and I am confident my expertise and knowledge can assist in helping to achieve Swinburne’s vision.” Said David.  

In addition to his role at Swinburne, David is Chairman and Director of the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia, a Director of Standards Australia, a director of AVI and a Fellow of the Academy of Technology and Engineering.

He is an experienced company director who holds or has held director-level roles with privately held, industry and government boards in Australia, UK, Singapore and Africa, including several as chairman.

David is a civil engineer and planner who previously - as a member of the global Board - had responsibility for the strategic leadership and growth of the global consulting firm Arup. He is a five-time recipient of the 100 Most Influential Engineers in Australia Award (Engineers Australia), with the most recent being in 2015.
