Launching the next chapter of the Australian Volunteers program at Parliament House

On Monday 12 February, I joined fellow AVI Board members, AVI CEO, volunteers past and present, and the Australian Minister for International Development and the Pacific, Senator Concetta Fierravanti-Wells at Parliament House to launch the next phase of the Australian Volunteers program, an Australian Government initiative. 

Over the next five years, the Australian Volunteers program will place around 5000 Australians in a wide range of volunteer assignments across 26 nations in the Indo-Pacific. The program is especially committed to enabling Australians from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds, as well as those living with disabilities, to engage in volunteering abroad.
